2016 Road Program

For the year 2016 staff has acknowledged several roads throughout the Village that are in need of resurfacing, and with the available funds have narrowed the program to about 2.5 miles of selected roads.

The program is funded through the expenditure of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds.   $700,000 of MFT funds have been approved for this year's road program.  The streets planned for the program this year are depicted on the map linked below.

Staff and the Village’s engineering consultant have reviewed the bids and determined that Peter Baker & Son Co. is the lowest responsible bidder.  The Village Board approved Resolution No. 16-43 awarding the bid to Peter Baker & Son Co. in the amount of $857,187.04 .

The Contractor is scheduled to begin their work August 8, 2016 with digging on Creekside.  Curb and gutter work is expected to begin the week of August 8 in Mystic Cove and Heron Harbor, and the week of August 15 in Pine Hill Lakes subdivision.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of September, but will be dependent on weather, manpower, etc.

The paving crew is currently in Windmill Creek.  Weather permitting, they anticipate working on Saturday, September 10 to cover more area and expedite the schedule, and expect to begin in the Heron Harbor subdivision Monday or Tuesday to start paving.

By September 1, 2016 all driveways will be replaced.  There will be no work performed on September 2, 2016 in advance of the holiday weekend.  The contractor will re-sweep and place prime coat in Antioch Estates and Pine Hill Lakes next Tuesday, September 6, 2016.  Placement of the leveling binder in Antioch Estates will begin Wednesday, September 7 followed by Pine Hill Lakes on Thursday.  After placement of the leveling binder, the contractor will review the structure elevations located in the pavement for adjustment by Public Works prior to placement of the surface course.  Public Works will have approximately 1 week to adjust the structures before Baker constructs the surface lift of asphalt.  Milling will begin in Heron Harbor Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

The Orchard Street Extension will be closed from Main Street to Depot Street for road maintenance on September 13, 2016 from approximately 7:00 am until 4:00 pm.  Please follow detour signs for alternate routes.
