For many months, village staff, as well as many residents, have been reaching out to Canadian National, IDOT and the Illinois Commerce Commission regarding the conditions of the railroad crossing at IL Route 173. We are happy to announce that, after numerous complaints and an investigation by the ICC, the railroad was notified that repairs are required. Repairs are scheduled to begin on August 10. Signs will be installed prior to the closure, which is expected to last through August 15. These dates are subject to change, and are coordinated through various agencies, including the Village of Antioch, Lake County and IDOT.
