Antioch’s Economic Development Task Force, formed in 2017 to create partnerships between the Village of Antioch, business community, schools, and other leading institutions, has developed a Small Business Grant Program to help assist the Antioch business community affected by COVID-19. The program was originally presented to the Village Board at a Committee of the Whole meeting in November, and would award up to $5,000 in small business grants to qualified applicants. “This is a great opportunity for the Village to be able to help out our small businesses during a very critical time” said Community Development Director Michael Garrigan.
The program was approved by a unanimous vote of the Village Board at their December 14 Village Board Meeting. This is just one example of the initiatives put in place to help the business community as a part of the “All Together Antioch” campaign. Other facets of the campaign include an interactive map for shopping, dining and services on the Village of Antioch website and community signage.
Qualified applicants must have 25 or fewer employees, be located within the Village of Antioch municipal boundaries, produce sales under $500,000 annually, and must be current on their local taxes.
