Fall leaf vacuuming starts soon and runs throughout November!
The village’s popular leaf vacuuming program is provided as a service through our waste hauler, Groot. The program will start next Monday, October 31, 2022, and will run through November 25, 2022. Exact pick-up dates will vary depending on the weather.
Here is how the program works:
During the first full four weeks in November, Groot will provide leaf vacuuming services at the curb. Residents are to rake leaves within 5 feet of the edge of the road. Not in ditches. This program is WEATHER PERMITTING. If we have not had rain (or snow), Groot trucks will be in different areas of the Village on different days of the week to vacuum up the leaves. If the leaves are too wet, the vacuum truck will not be able to pick them up, and the program will be postponed or delayed.
If you are concerned about leaves blowing back into your yard, or if you worry that you might miss or have missed leaf pick-up, you may still use labeled yard waste cans or bags for your leaves. Groot will collect them during the regularly scheduled garbage day (Thursday) for the village.
