Good afternoon and Happy Friday, Antioch!
This week’s message comes to you from Downtown Chicago. I, along with several Antioch Village Board trustees and several village staff members am attending the Illinois Municipal League’s annual conference. As the case every year with the IML conference, I have the opportunity to spend time with mayors from all over the state and share best practices and ideas to make our communities better. I also enjoy bragging about the great things going on in Antioch!
The Village of Antioch’s Fall Wine Walk is tomorrow throughout Downtown Antioch. I’m excited to announce that this appears to be our biggest Wine Walk to date – with over 600 participants visiting at least 30 local shops and restaurants in our community. This fun event continues to grow and continues to make a bigger impact on our local merchants and community. Unfortunately, if you didn’t get tickets, I’m sorry to say there are none left.
The Village of Antioch 2023 Road Rehabilitation Program is starting soon! Beginning Monday, construction will close Landmark Way for approximately two to three days. The village’s contractor will have electric message board signs providing updates for this road closure, along with detour signage. Additionally, other streets and roads in the village that will see roadwork include Burnette, Hickory, Cedarwood, Bowles, Trevor, Hennings Ct., Antia, Ida, and Depot.
Weather permitting, we’re aiming to complete the entire 2023 Road Rehabilitation Program within the next four to six weeks. Please keep in mind that construction delays might occur due to weather conditions, and we appreciate your patience during this process.
