Tomorrow is the Summer 2024 Antioch Wine Walk! We’re excited to welcome nearly 500 people downtown. They’ll be visiting local shops and restaurants while enjoying sips of wine. In addition to having fun, this group will be supporting our local economy. Tomorrow’s weather looks PERFECT! If you don’t have your tickets yet, there are still some available. In addition to many of your neighbors and visitors from out of town, we’re excited to welcome the morning show from B96 radio! There have been a lot of us who have been counting down the days until next Thursday! Thursday night concerts at the William E. Brook Entertainment Center (Antioch bandshell) will kick off next Thursday, June 13th. For the third year in a row, we’re starting the concert season with a big show! Next Thursday, County Music star Chris Cagle will kick things off! I hope you can join the fun! If you do come out, expect a large crowd. Every Thursday night concerts at the bandshell are free to attend and open to all ages! If you’re planning to come to the Chris Cagle concert, upgrade the experience with a spot right in front of the stage! The concert is free, but the village is selling a limited number of VIP tickets for an area right in front of the stage. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go toward helping fund the construction of Antioch’s Veteran’s Memorial. Also next week, the Antioch Traveling Closet Corporation NFP will be holding its next giveaway of clothing, toiletries, and essential items for families in need. The giveaway event will be Wednesday, June 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the ATC’s new location at 311 Depot Street. Please note that this event is only for local residents only. It’s opening weekend for Camelot at the PM&L Theatre! The performance starts tonight and runs weekends through June 30th. Finally, there will be a couple of big milestones for the new park next week! At next Wednesday night’s meeting, the Antioch Village Board is expected to adopt a name for the park. We’re grateful for the hundreds of residents who helped provide input and guidance throughout this process! Also, the performance pavilion will be put in place next week. Right now, crews have been working to assemble the structure. A crane will move it into place sometime next week. I’ll make sure the village posts pictures on its Facebook page of the progress. I’m sure it will be fun to watch! The pavilion will have seating for just over 200 people, plus a lawn area that can accommodate about 500 more.
