Happy Thanksgiving Week, Antioch!
As we take time to reflect on the many blessings of the year, I am thankful for my health, my family, my friends, and having the honor of serving the residents of Antioch as Mayor. It is so exciting to see the developments and progress we’ve made this year in our community. Most importantly, I am grateful to those who help make it the wonderful place it is.
After a day of eating and relaxing and perhaps some holiday shopping, I hope you join us for the annual Antioch Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 29! The parade steps off from Park and Skidmore at 6:30pm, proceeding down Park to Main Street, then along Main to Orchard, and finally to the bandshell area. This is a special year for us, as we’ll hold the tree lighting ceremony at Sequoit Creek Park, marking the first of many to come. Be sure to arrive early and linger downtown after the parade and tree lighting. Our local business community is looking forward to seeing you!
Speaking of businesses, don’t forget—this Saturday is Small Business Saturday. This is an important shopping day for local shops, restaurants, and service providers. Many downtown businesses are hosting open houses and meet-and-greet events starting this weekend. This is a great way to get to know the small businesses in our community while snagging a discount or two. With so much going on, I encourage you to visit www.EnjoyAntioch.com for your guide to the good stuff as well upcoming event information and news.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season, and I hope to see you around town this weekend!
Mayor Scott Gartner
