Happy Friday, Antioch!
Santa Claus is coming to town starting tonight and you can see him for free! The jolly elf is the guest of honor at the Village of Antioch’s Santa at the Sawmill each Friday and Saturday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. through December 21. Come enjoy this beloved tradition!
If you can’t make it to the Sawmill, drop him a letter at Village Hall. There is a special mailbox in front of Village Hall (874 Main Street) for letters going to the North Pole. Anyone who writes to Santa is reminded to include their return address on their letter so Santa can respond! The mailbox will be in place until Friday, December 20. The sooner you drop off a letter, the sooner Santa can respond!
While you are at Village Hall, join us in supporting our annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive and give some hope and smiles to children in need this season. Bring your new and unwrapped toys to Antioch Village Hall anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through December 20. Let’s make this holiday magical together!
Needless to say, the holiday spirit is alive and well in downtown Antioch. After you make your wish list (and check it twice), local businesses and organizations are offering an array of exciting shopping deals and festive activities for everyone to enjoy. From trendy bars and coffee shops to chic boutiques, restaurants and more, for every dollar spent at Antioch’s small businesses, 67 cents stay in the local community. Much of that amount goes to the business owner and their employees. When you shop from small businesses this holiday season, you’re doing more than supporting a community’s economy—you’re supporting a dream!
Here are some ways to find the perfect holiday gifts and deals in Antioch this month:
Shop ‘N Play Holiday Edition
Make your holiday shopping a fun and festive experience with Shop Antioch’s Shop ‘N Play Holiday Edition Dec. 12-15. Participating downtown shops and restaurants will extend their hours until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, giving shoppers more time to browse, buy, and eat downtown. Shoppers also have a chance to win special prizes for their patronage.
Christmas Loyalty Reward Program
The Antioch Chamber of Commerce invites you to save while you shop with the Christmas Loyalty Reward Program. Running now through Dec. 24, this program rewards your holiday purchases at local businesses. It’s also the perfect way to support the community while finding the perfect gifts for your loved ones.
The PM&L Theatre’s production of “A Christmas Carol” is also showing now through Dec. 22. Eat at Station 51 Truck Company Bar & Grill next door for 10 percent off your ticket.
Sweeten the holidays at the Lodge of Antioch (893 Main St.) with their Candy Cane on Main specials.
