CALL TO ORDER | The continued meeting of the Board of Trustees was called to order by Mayor Shineflug at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building: 874 Main Street, Antioch, IL. |
ROLL CALL | Roll call indicated the following Trustees were present: Larson, Oldenburger, Hanson, Cunningham and Porch. Also present were Mayor Shineflug, Attorney Clark and Clerk Rowe. Absent: Trustee Foresta. |
MINUTES | The April 16th minutes as well as the minutes from April 30th will be placed on the May 7, 2001 agenda for approval. |
MAYOR | Mayor Shineflug thanked everyone for coming to this evening's meeting. |
TIM WELLS | Clerk Rowe read aloud the letter dated April 27, 2001 from Village Administrator Tim Wells notifying the Mayor and Board of Trustees of his intent to retire under the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund's Early Retirement Incentive Program. This letter does not obligate Mr. Wells to retire under the plan, however it alerts IMRF there is a chance of a retirement occurring. A motion was made by Trustee Larson, seconded by Trustee Hanson to accept the letter of intent to retire dated April 27, 2001 from Administrator Wells. On roll call, the vote was: |
SUMMER EMPLOYEES | A motion was made by Trustees Larson, seconded by Trustee Cunningham to approve hiring the employees as listed on the Summer Employee 2001. On roll call, the vote was: YES: 5; Larson, Oldenburger, Hanson, Cunningham and Porch. NO: 0. ABSENT: 1; Foresta. THE MOTION CARRIED. |
POLICE OFFICERS | After reading the letter of recommendation from Police Chief Charles Watkins, a motion was made by Trustee Cunningham, seconded by Trustee Hanson to authorize a conditional job to the first two individuals who appear on the Antioch Police and Fire Board's hiring list. On roll call, the vote was: YES: 5; Larson, Oldenburger, Hanson, Cunningham and Porch. NO: 0. ABSENT: 1; Foresta. THE MOTION CARRIED. |
ATTORNEY | Attorney Clark read aloud the following ordinances: First reading: Ordinance Approving the Preliminary Plan for Townsville Subdivision, PZB01-01. This item will be placed on the May 7 agenda for consideration with verbiage changes. First reading: Ordinance Approving the Final Plat for Phase III Unit 4 of Tiffany Farms Planned Unit Development. This item will be placed on the May 7 agenda for consideration. First reading: Ordinance Approving "Buy Down" Loan for Steve Sodman's Property Located at 388 and 390 Lake Street, Antioch, Illinois. This item will be placed on the May 7 agenda for consideration. First reading: Lakes Region Historical Society Rezoning. An Ordinance Rezoning the Property Commonly Known as 977 and 983 Main Street, Antioch, Illinois, P.I.N. 02-08-311-020 and 02-08-311-021, PZB01-02. This item will be placed on the May 7 agenda for consideration. |
PRESENTATIONS | Administrator Wells introduced Senator Adeline Geo-Karis who presented Trustee Cunningham, Trustee Oldenburger and Mayor Shineflug with Illinois Senate Recognition Resolutions for their service to the community. Administrator Wells read aloud and presented Trustee Cunningham, Trustee Oldenburger and Mayor Shineflug Resolutions from Representative Tim Osmond. Mayor Shineflug presented Trustee Cunningham and Trustee Oldenburger with a gift from the Village, thanking them for their years of service to our community. Trustee Cunningham has been Village Trustee from 1973 - 2001. Trustee Oldenburger has been Village Trustee 1993 - 2001. Administrator Wells presented Mayor Shineflug with a gift from the Village thanking her for her many years of service to the community. Mayor Shineflug served as Mayor 1993 - 2001 and as Village Trustee from 1989 - 1993. Andrew Quigley presented Mayor Shineflug with a Resolution from the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. Trustee Oldenburger and Trustee Cunningham thanked those in attendance and their families for the many years of support as well as offered some words of advice to those incoming Trustees and Mayor. Mayor Shineflug thanked everyone for attending this evening and also read a letter indicating references and seminars that new Board members should refer to as they learn their duties of being a public official. |
ADJOURN | A motion was made by Trustee Oldenburger, seconded by Trustee Cunningham to adjourn the continued meeting at 8:35 p.m. |
